Biographie

Patrick Omoumi graduated from Sorbonne University Medical School in Paris and completed his radiology training in France and in various international institutions, including St Luc University Hospital, Brussels and the University of California, San Diego. In 2010, he joined the team of musculoskeletal imaging at St Luc University Hospital as a clinical radiologist, while undertaking a PhD under the supervision of Prof. Bruno Vande Berg. Since 2014, he has been the head of musculoskeletal imaging at Lausanne University Hospital in Switzerland, and associate researcher at the Swiss Biomotion Lab.

His research activities include the development and validation of novel morphological and quantitative techniques for the imaging of joints, and the clinical use of those for the understanding of the pathophysiology of arthritis, with a focus on osteoarthritis. He is the principal investigator of multiple research projects in this field, and has obtained over 1.7m chf in competitive grants.

Patrick Omoumi has worked in six different countries in Europe, Northern and Southern America. He has been actively involved in educational activities, giving over 100 invited lectures worldwide. He has authored more than 100 scientific publications, and 30 book chapters.
