The English Speaking Cancer Association (ESCA) offres two supports:
1) «Bereavement Support» for small number of people who have recently lost a loved one. Specially trained counsellors lead the group once a week for 6 weeks. You learn about the grieving process, receive emotional support in a safe and non-judgemental environment, share with others who have experienced a similar loss and learn coping skills. It is open to individuals of all nationalities who are proficient in English.
2) «Art Therapy for the Bereaved», a 4-week programme designed for anyone who has lost a loved one to cancer. These sessions offer an approach to ongoing bereavement care through creative art making to help navigate the difficult landscape of grief and the experience of loss. Visual image making offers an expression of thoughts, feelings and emotions which support individuals in developing inner resources and hope in finding a way forward. No prior artistic skills or background are required to participate. It is open to individuals of all nationalities who are proficient in English. See «Calendar» for location.
